Jason Burns aka "The Fidget Man from Fidgetland" appeared on ABC's Shark Tank during Season 9. After receiving two offers, he closed a deal with Barbara Corcoran for 20% of his company, Fidgetland. Based on the success of his first appearance, Jason was asked to shoot a "Shark Tank Update" with Barbara in NYC that also aired during Season 9.
Jason is no stranger to television. He started working for his aunt, famed television producer and manager, Bonnie Burns, when he was just 14 years old. Since then, Jason has gone on to have a successful career as a Talent Agent and Producer. Prior to Shark Tank, Burns spent over two decades working with Hollywood A Listers. In addition to multiple studio-released feature films, he's produced more than 200 episodes of reality television. Giving Jason a huge advantage when he went through the Shark Tank casting process. As a television producer himself, Jason knew how to deliver his story in a way the producers would find compelling, "It was second nature to me, I knew exactly what the producers wanted to see and how tell my story", Burns said during an appearance on 'Outside the Tank' podcast in '22. He went on to say, "My background and skill set make me uniquely positioned to help entrepreneurs going though the process. I don't know of any other tv producers with my background and credits that have been on the show and closed a deal". So it's not surprise that following his appearance on Shark Tank, Jason found himself responding to countless inquiries from fellow entrepreneurs and Shark Tank hopefuls, each seeking insight and advice on the application and casting process. As a result, Jason quickly realized there was a need for his services, but his focus was on Fidgetland. So he banked the idea, knowing he'd come back to it once he got Fidgetland to a place where he could step away from the the day to operations without the company missing a beat. That day came in mid 2020 when he officially launched BTS Consulting. Since launch, Burns has worked with a select handful of Shark Tank hopefuls at various stages of the application process, his clients refer to him as the "Shark Tank Coach". Jason and BTS offers Shark Tank pitch assistance and Shark Tank application help. He's currently working with two companies that are scheduled to pitch the Sharks for Season 15 of the show. All of Burns' work with BTS is confidential and bound by a strict NDA, protecting both the entrepreneurs and BTS.
Jason is an alumni of the University of Arizona and a graduate of the McGuire Center for Entrepreneurship Program. In addition, Jason is a member of the Television Academy and Producers Guild of America. He's a former board member of the Hollywood Radio Television Society and co-founder of Old Movies for Young People.
